3. Configuring Google Checkout
4. Place your First Test Order
5. Enabling your Live Account.
6. Additional Steps to Tweak your Google Checkout Account

1. Register for a SandBox Account

A Sandbox account provides the same functionality as a full account but has been designed specifically for testing purposes. The end user customer can go through the full payment procedure but no funds will ever change hands. When we have established that the integration is working in Sandbox mode we can then switch you to a live account.

OK so the first thing to do is register for a Google Checkout Sandbox account. This can be done from the link below.

http://sandbox.google.com/checkout/sell

2. Extract the Merchant ID and Key

When your Google Checkout Sandbox account has been setup you need to obtain the Merchant ID and Merchant Key from the Google Checkout control panel. Simply log into Google Checkout and click on the 'Settings' tab, then click the 'Integration' link on the left hand side of the screen. The Merchant ID and Key will be displayed on the right hand side, these two values need to be copied into the HIP Manager Google Checkout Payment Settings screen.

3. Configure your Google Checkout Account

Once you have input the Google Merchant ID and Key into HIP Manager you will need to return to the Google Checkout Integration Settings and ensure your Google Checkout account is configured as follows.

1. Check the box to ensure XML carts are digitally signed, this provides an extra layer of security for the end user.

2. Set the API callback URL as follows:

https://hipwiz.com/secure/payments/googleNotifications.aspx

3. Set the Callback method as XML.

4. Leave all advanced settings unchecked (default).

4. Place your First Test Order

You are now ready to place your first test order on Google Checkout. Navigate to your front-end interface and go through the procedure of ordering a full HIP. When you view the payment options there should now be a prominently placed Google Checkout Button. Click on this button and your browser will be redirected to Google Checkout where you can enter your payment details.

When the payment has been authorised you will be redirected back to the main order screen. You will receive a customer receipt and a merchant notification by email from Google Checkout. If you can now see the order in your White Label Control panel then you are ready to submit your Google Checkout Integration to our admin department for review. You can do this by going into customer payment settings then clicking on the Google Checkout option, at the bottom of the screen there will be an option to submit your integration for review.

5. Enabling your Live Account.

Once we have reviewed and approved your integration you can now register for a live Google Checkout account. Please use the link below to register for your live account:

http://checkout.google.com/seller/

As with the Sandbox account you will need to repeat the process to obtain your Merchant ID and Key (These will be different to your Sandbox account) and enter them into the Google Payment settings screen once you have changed the dropdown menu to 'Production'. You will also need to ensure the integration settings are correctly defined in Google Checkout as per Section 3.

Before your go live with your system please take care to ensure the account is in 'Production' mode, otherwise your customers will end up making test payments to your account.

Auto Charging
By default all Google Orders must be manually charged once they have been authorised. Orders can be charged within your HIP Manager White Label control panel once the order has been charged you can then lodge the associated HIP to be processed. If you wish you can configure Google to auto-charge all new orders, this can be done from within the 'Preferences' section under the 'Settings Tab' within the Google Checkout control panel.
