About the HIP Code

What does the White Label System do?

The White Label system is an online platform that enables a company to sell HIPs under their own brand without the complications of developing and managing their own software. We create an online system for your business that can be seamlessly integrated into your existing website and will enable your customers to obtain live quotes for a HIP and order directly from your website using a sophisticated Google Checkout integration. You obtain payment directly from your customer and we process and compile a branded HIP that is made available to download from a control panel we add to your website. If this all sounds a little bit complicated then please read ahead as it is actually very simple to setup!

Is there a demo I can see?

Yes please view our demo White Label account from the link below:

Why use our White Label System?

Many businesses can generate a significant new revenue stream selling HIPs directly to the general public or as a value added component to their existing offering. You can even disable certain parts of the HIP and provide these services yourself, a feature which enables DEAs to provide a full HIP Ordering service with their own EPC. Home Information Packs are now a mandatory supplement to the sale of all residential properties in England and Wales therefore the potential target market is very large. We have developed fast, scalable systems to coordinate the processing and compilation of HIPs and work with a number of high profile suppliers who have a proven track record in delivering results. The White Label system has been designed to easily integrate with any website. The setup process can take as little as 30 minutes of your time. Here are some more great features that you may benefit from.

  • Set your own retail prices

  • Bolt on your own custom products and services

  • Collect payment directly from your customers

  • Create your own branded HIPs

  • Generate new leads for your business

  • How does the White Label System work?

The White Label system does not require you to install any software on your web server. Once you have registered to use the service we reserve a block of space on our White Label system, we then give you a URL that you can use to point your website to your account. The URL passes a unique ID code that tells our system which website the request originates from, we use the code to implement the branding and colours that you have previously setup. This code also enables us to implement all your specific account settings such as your price model, customer payment options VAT status and custom content. If the system has been configured correctly and the design matches your existing branding then the customer will never know they are on a different website.

The end user customer will then proceed through the forms to provide information about their property such as address, number of bedrooms, tenure (e.g. freehold, leasehold etc.) and property type. Our system will then dynamically generate a quote based on your own unique price model. If they are happy with the quote then they can pay you directly using a number of pre-configured methods (e.g. Google Checkout, telephone payment, cheque or bank transfer). When you have authorised the payment you can then instruct us to process the HIP.

When the HIP has been submitted for processing we will create a branded control panel for your end user customer this enables them to obtain a copy of their receipt and check the order process. Once complete the HIP will be available to download from the control panel.

Do I need any programming knowledge to setup the White Label System?

No however it will help if you have a basic knowledge of HTML as this will allow you to create more effective banners. The banners are two strips running horizontally across the top and bottom of the screen to enable you to customise the look and feel of your system.

If you would like to collect payment from your customers using Google Checkout then all you need to do is register an account and pass us your merchant ID and Key so we can configure your white label account to link into the Google Checkout payment gateway.

For a small charge we can create your banners and setup your account. Please contact us to find out more.

How much does it cost to order a HIP through the White Label System?

The price we charge for a HIP is dependant on volume. Our base price is currently GBP 235.89. We are constantly seeking to improve efficiencies by developing our systems and reducing administrative overhead, this allows us to offer a more competitive price to our customers.

Can I set my own retail prices?

Yes you can. Please refer to the product specification using the link below.

Are the prices fixed for all areas?

Yes we have a fixed price for all areas of England and Wales.

How can my customers pay me?

There are several methods that you can setup on the white label system to enable your customers to pay you for their HIP order. These are listed below:

    Google Checkout
Google Checkout is an online payment service provider to enable businesses to collect payment from their customers online. It's free to setup a Google Checkout merchant account and charges are made on a per transaction basis, this is currently 15p plus 1.5% of the order total. When a customer pays for an order, Google collect the funds and remit them to your bank account within 3 days.

    Telephone Payment
You can add a dedicated sales number to take payment over the phone if you have the facility in your company. When a customer calls you they will pass you a unique quote ID that you can use to recall and process the order.

    Cheque Payment
By proving information about the payee name and delivery address you can easily add instructions enabling your customers to pay you by cheque.

    Bank Payment
Finally you can input information about your bank to allow your customers to initiate a BACs or CHAPs transfer straight into your bank account.

It is advisable to offer as many payment options as possible to your customers this will enable you to increase conversion rates.

Can we customise the appearance of our HIP?

Yes. From the HIP Manager control panel you can access the document design settings enabling you to customise your colour scheme and upload your company logo. You can also add a footer statement to the bottom of each page and modify the style of the dividers.

How do I pay HIP Manager?

You can pay HIP Manager by debit/credit card, cheque or bank transfer. Once the payment has cleared the funds will appear on your account. You can submit any White Label order against the available funds on your account. Initially you may wish to add funds on a pay as you go basis just to cover any pending orders. Once you have established some degree of order history you can apply for a credit account and we will invoice you on monthly on 30 day terms.

How long does it take to complete the HIP?

Current turnaround times are approximately 5 to 10 working days. The lead time on a given order can be influenced by the postcode. This is because two major components of the HIP, the local authority search and the drainage and water search are sourced from local providers and are subject to their delivery times.

As councils and water authorities strive to improve their infrastructure we are continuing to see an improvement in lead times. This trend will continue as the Home Information Pack drives the imperative for such providers to delivery a faster more efficient service.

What kind of support will our customers receive?

There are two options here. You can either opt for HIP Manager to handle your customer queries through the integrated messaging system available to your customers. Alternatively you can use the same system to communicate directly with your customer from the HIP Manager Control panel. By default all new white label accounts are configured to allow us to deal with your customer queries. This is because due to the nature of most questions we are better placed to provide a response. Any response to any an end user customer will appear to have originated from your company.

Do I need professional indemnity insurance?

It is not mandatory for you to have professional indemnity insurance unless you decide to become a member of HIP Code in your own right. All complete HIP orders are accredited with the HIP code logo to show that we have full professional indemnity insurance along with all the suppliers we use.

    Are the HIPs fully accredited?

Yes. We are registered with the
Property Codes Compliance Board (PCCB) and subscribe to HIP code. This is a framework that we use to ensure all the HIPs we provide are compliant with current legislation. The HIP code logo will appear on the front of the HIPs we produce for you with the exclusion of orders that are only partly ordered from HIP Manager.

You can view our entry on the Property Codes website here

Can I supply my own EPC?

Yes you can choose to remove our EPC from the system and add your own. This is particularly useful for DEAs wishing to provide a full HIP service to their clients. When you add your own EPC service to the system you can customise the retail price, expenditure and add your own description. Please note that any partial orders placed with HIP Manager cannot be accredited with the HIP Code logo, this would be the case when account holders supply their own EPC.
