Design Customisation

The White Label system incorporates many layers of control for customising the design and feel of your service. This document highlights the tools available within the HIP Manager control panel to achieve this.

Adding and Modifying your Banners

The front-end pages (i.e. the areas where your customers access) dynamically import a header and footer banner to make the service appear succinct with your website. You can add multiple banners and hot-swap between them from the banner management screen. If you do not have any banners or no active banner has been selected then the system will show a default place holder.

The banners are rendered in pure HTML but can also include other client side features such as CSS stylesheets, javascript and Flash animations.

To obtain detailed guidance on how to create/modify a banner please review our banner guide.

Using the Theme Manager

The theme manager is an interactive styling tool that enables you to modify the visual attributes of all the key elements in the system. The output is stored in an XML file and this is referenced directly to create a CSS stylesheet that plays a fundamental role in controlling the following elements:

  • The font, colour, size and style of all textual elements on the system.

  • The border colours, width and style.

  • The cell shading. The system uses three different colour sections that can be individually controlled.

  • Graphic set. The system imports a set of image based elements for annotations and buttons.

  • Global page properties. Here you can control the page background colour and alignment.

  • You can instantly import a variety of pre-made style templates from the theme manager. You can also save your favourite styles and retrieve them at a later date, this is great if you are experimenting with a number of different design styles.

To obtain detailed guidance on how to create/modify a theme please review our theme manager guide.

    Using HTML Injections

Essentially HTML injections are not too dissimilar to the header and footer banners in the sense that they are specific points on your front end pages where you can add your own custom HTML. This means you can add all kinds of interesting content to your end user pages to make your offering even more distinct.

At present there are only two injection points on the system and there is no interface within the HIP Manager control panel to add these yet. We are however developing the system to enable you to copy in your own HTML code and active your injection points.

If you do not have presaved content for a given injection point it will load the default content.

    Customising your Completed HIP

There are options within your HIP Manager control panel to customise the output of the completed Home Information Pack. You can access these properties by clicking on the menu option 'Design Settings'. Currently you can configure the colours that are used on the front page and dividers along with the footer text that is appended to the bottom of each page.

If you have a company logo that you would like to include on the front page then you can upload it from this screen and implicitly control its X and Y position on the page. You can also choose to display or hide the HIP Code logo and further configure its scale and orientation on the page.
